Fly private to Stuttgart, a popular business and tourist destination in the German state of Baden-Württemberg, and discover why they say “Stuttgart offers more”.

Stuttgart’s tourism slogan speaks to the fact that it doesn’t fit in to your typically roster of German cities — the city sprawls across a variety of hills, valleys and parks, often surprising visitors who know it as the ‘Cradle of the Automobile’.

The city is improving its transport links to the international infrastructure as part of the Stuttgart 21 project, and it unveiled a new logo and slogan in March 2008 describing itself as “The New Heart of Europe” (Das neue Herz Europas).

Stuttgarters carry a handful of stereotypes according to Germans from other parts of Dueshceland: they hog the road while speeding down the autobahn; it’s all just Schwäbisch speaking, sharp-dressed executives; all they do is work, work, work, and build a house (schaffe, schaffe, schaffe, Häusle baue).

In the city home to Porsche and Mercedes, as well as an array of Michelin star restaurants, there’s no denying this simple fact — many here like their cars fast, and their food fancy.

However, most of the people here are more than happy & willing to get their hands dirty (or in the case of vineyard workers, their shoes). After your private flight arrives, you’ll find that the sharped dress suits and down-to-earth country folk live happily side-by-side in the capital of Baden-Württemberg.

Logos for Mercedes, Porsche, and Zeiss optical equipment dawn corporate headquarters in Stuttgart, considered by many as ground-zero for German engineering. That said, there’s plenty of greenspaces to take the edge off of all the industry and technology.

Stuttgart is not a popular vacation spot, but you can easily fill up a satisfying day here; walk through vineyards that cover hillsides all the way to the city’s outskirts, or stroll through the shaded banks of the Neckar River as it cuts through the town. For fans of the arts, there are several respected art collections and a lot of high-brow culture, including the world renowned Stuttgart Ballet.

Attractions & Events

The automobile is at the heart and soul of Stuttgart. Home to the headquarters and museums of both Mercedes-Benz and Porsche, its easy for luxury travelers to find the mark these beloved hometown automakers have left on the city – the Porsche emblem is even featured on it’s coat of arms.

Despite its manufacturing roots, the city is one of Europe’s most green, filled with greenspaces wrapping around its center; popular parks include the Schlossgarten, Rosensteinpark, and Killesbergpark.

One of Europe’s largest zoos and botanical gardens, Wilhelma, is just northeast of Rosensteinpark. Stuttgart’s smart, too, with the most scientific, academic and research organizations in Germany.

Despite the region’s stereotypical Bavarian love affair with beer, it’s actually known for at least 20 wine-makers producing a variety of wines near the city. The only German city with a municipal wine estate, popular festivals such as Stuttgarter Weindorf (Wine Festival) and Fellbach Autumn Festival highlight local wines.

The city is also home to world class ballet performances by the Stuttgart Ballet, ranked among the world’s top dance institutions for more than 50 years. Check out more of our recommendations for luxury private jet travelers staying in Stuttgart, Germany.
