While major international airports handle millions of commercial passengers daily, there is a network of specialized airports catering specifically to private jet users.

These airports offer premium amenities, swift processing times, and access to exclusive lounges, making them popular among celebrities, executives, and other high-net-worth individuals.

Although trends have shown a slight decrease in business aviation, the numbers are beginning to find their post-pandemic levels, which are dramatically up from the totals in 2019.

Below is a look at some of the busiest private jet airports in the world throughout the first half of 2024.

Top 10 Busiest Private Jet Airports in the United States

The FAA reported a total of 3.8 million business jet and charter flight operations in 2023, with high-demand for domestic travel as only 600,000 of these flights were international.

Flights between Palm Beach International (PBI) and Teterboro (TEB) accounted for nearly 3,000 flights to start the year, making it the most frequently traveled private jet route in the U.S.

Florida continues to see the highest volume of private jet traffic, with the largest year-to-year increase in the nation seen in Naples.

Top 10 Busiest Private Jet Airports in Europe

Paris-Le Bourget continues to be the top airport in Europe, and is part of Europe’s most traveled route, with more than 1,500 flights between Paris and Geneva so far this year.

Despite leading Europe with the highest number of departures, Paris-Le Bourget sees only a third of the traffic totals at Teterboro Airport.

London accounts for the majority of business aviation in Europe across three airport in the top 10, while the largest increases were seen in Istanbul and Madrid.
