Auckland Private Jet Airports
Auckland is home to the largest and busiest airport in New Zealand, Auckland Airport (NZAA, AKL). Located just 13 miles (21 km) south of the city center, it’s a single runway airport that handles more than 21 million passengers annually and serves as the domestic & international hub for Air New Zealand.
It’s also the only airport in New Zealand aside from Christchurch capable of handling Boeing 747 and Airbus A380 airliners, and a longer second runway is planned for 2025. Gates 101–106 in the domestic terminal are used for business jets, and there are 4 fixed-base operators and ground handling providers, including SkyCare Swissport and Air Center One FBOs.
Ardmore Airport (NZAR, AMZ) is also available for domestic charter flights and is one of New Zealand’s busiest general aviation centers. North Shore Aerodrome (NZNE) and West Auckland Parakai Airport (NZPI) are additional general aviation fields located to the northwest, but are limited to small props and light aircraft due to their shorter runways.

Private Jet to Auckland, NZ
A rich maritime culture, resources to spare, and unmatched natural beauty; Auckland really is a gem of a town. This northern island city is New Zealand’s most populous and arguably most important area. The only competition would be Wellington, the country’s capital at the south end of the North Island.
Auckland is also one of the world’s most outdoorsy cities. The area has one of the highest standards of living in the world, and it’s easy to see why. With the natural beauty of New Zealand surrounding it, Auckland offers a lifestyle that’s much more laid back than other big cities.
There’s hiking, surfing, biking, and tons of other outdoor activities in the area. Auckland also has bars and gourmet restaurants to spare and plenty of other nightlife options. It’s got all the bells and whistles, but it doesn’t necessarily show them off.
With two large harbors, gorgeous weather, and awe-inspiring landscapes, it’s no wonder why the Ngāti-Whātu fought over this place for centuries. Auckland has changed hands many times, and eventually became what it is today. It’s a very well-developed city, but the focus is definitely not on commercial activities; Auckland’s all about natural life.
New Zealand is one of the most beautiful places on the planet; as demonstrated by the plethora of movies shot there every year. This means that the locals are much more into outdoors activities than just about any other major city in the world. You would be, too, if some of the planet’s most gorgeous sites were right in your backyard.
Kayaking, golf, hiking, and sailing are some of the most popular leisure activities in the area, and rugby is the country’s major sport. You can find all of these things, including rugby games, within half an hour of the Auckland central business district. Some of the best outdoor activities in the city can be found at the Waitakere Ranges, an expanse of scenic hills just west of the city.
