Aircraft > Heavy Jet

Manufactured by Dassault, the Falcon 900 is an impressive heavy jet in all of its incarnations.

Offering a range of over 5,000 miles, a spacious cabin with comfortable seating, along with Dassault’s innovative tri-engine design, it’s one of the most popular private jets on the charter market. The tri-jet configuration is ideal for transoceanic flights, with increased safety and versatility provided by the additional engine.

Falcon 900 Interior

The Falcon 900 was one of the first business aircraft to offer an isolated passenger cabin, with forward and aft lavatories and a galley that could be segregated from the flight crew and the cockpit.

The spacious cabin, dining, and entertainment areas, easy to access baggage compartments, and increased passenger capacity with double-club seating made it one of the most successful large-cabin business aircraft in aviation.

Although slightly smaller than the 7X, its cabin is still spacious, and typically features seating configurations for between 8 and 12 passengers. The large cabin also features a separate luggage compartment, a private wardrobe, and a fully enclosed bathroom.

There are seats available that recline and combine into a full-length bed, while the remaining seats all track, swivel, recline, and are fully adjustable. High capacity configurations are available to squeeze in more passengers at the expense of flight range.

The Falcon 900, including older models and refurbished planes, offers the entertainment and business amenities you need in a modern jet. This includes wi-fi availability, satellite phone, and comfortable work areas to keep you connected while traveling, and integrated systems to control video, audio, and more. Passengers also have easy access to the cargo area mid-flight.

Falcon 900 Performance

Each of the Dassault Falcon 900 variants are some of the most versatile options for heavy jet charters among corporations, governments, business flyers, and VIP/luxury jetsetters. One of the major reasons: it offers incredible performance allowing it to can reach destinations many of its heavy jet competitors can’t.

Corporate flight departments, charter operators, fractional programs, and wealthy individuals all enjoy the impressive speed and range combined with the comfortable, standing room cabin, and optional high-density seating capacity (up to 18-19).

And, for corporate flight groups and executives who are chartering a flight to conduct business overseas, there’s a little more comfort knowing your flying in an aircraft with 3 jet engines instead of 2.

In addition to the peace of mind that the tri-jet engine design offers, it provides extra thrust to enhance short runway performance, allowing it to land at challenging, high-elevation airports many heavy business jets can only fly over. It also reduces the aircraft’s approach speed, adding additional safety to overall flight operations.

The 900B and 900C both offer longer legs than the original (900A), while the EX increases fuel capacity, provides added thrust with upgraded engines, and an HUD system for pilots.

The EASy (Enhanced Avionics System) is an avionics suite providing flight crew with access to every system via a central console. This system is available on the EX EASy, DX, and LX; these models also incorporate a blended winglet design, which reduces drag while increasing fuel efficiency and high-cruise performance.

Falcon 900 Variants

In production since 1984, the Falcon 900 has evolved over the decades to serve the needs of executives, luxury flyers, and governmental agencies, incorporating improved designs and technologies to offer one of the most flexible heavy jets in the sky.

The first variation was the 900B, powered by upgraded engines to deliver improved thrust. The 900C came later in 2000, upgrading the avionics along the way.

The 900EX was debuted in 1996, and is the 900’s long-range version with a 4,501 nautical mile range and Honeywell Primus avionics; the Falcon 900EX EASy features the Enhanced Avionics System (EASy) and a more efficient T-shape cockpit; the 900DX is a variant of the EX offering a shorter range and lower price tag; and the newest model, the 900LX, is a variant of the EX equipped with upgraded winglets to further improve range.
